I work as an organizer and activist with individuals and organizations to create a more safe and equitable world. My efforts focus primarily in the areas of economic equity and racial and gender justice.

For several years, I was the Director of the Women's Commission for the City of Chicago. As a mayoral appointee,  I created and implemented policy and programs concentrating on the welfare of marginalized people and communities.

Internationally, I represented the City of Chicago at the NGO Forum of the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China, and facilitated sessions at a global women’s conference in Kiev, Ukraine.

As an independent consultant, I work with non-profits, government, funders and the media on strategic planning, program creation, event coordination and board development.

My professional life is steeped in creating change and transformation. This is the essence of business and personal coaching. It’s a natural evolution for me to incorporate new skills and techniques as a means to facilitate purposeful change.

I hold  a Masters Degree in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelors Degree from the University of Michigan. I am a Certified Coach through the Coaches Training Institute (CTI).

On a personal note, our family came together through fostering and adoption. We are a multi-racial, multi-cultural crew.  I love spending time with our four young adult children.
